The PalmAgra Strategy and Approach

 

Palm Agra’s basic strategy is a three-fold process (agriculture, education, and health/environmental) integrated in a manner that successfully addresses the Millennium Development Goal of poverty reduction.

 

The plan:

 

· Increases exponentially the production of staple food crops (rice and oil palm) and improves domestic and international supply chains of products from farmland to markets locally and abroad. 

 

· Educates farmers on how to grow and obtain higher yields, process, store, and transport their harvested crops in a sustainable manner which in turn will spur competition among farmers.

 

· Partners with professional NGOs to: increase the farming workforce by providing health services to the less fortunate including the large population of amputees in war ravaged countries like Sierra Leone; and improve the health of the workforce through cleaner water resources. .
